Napa Valley Community Foundation appoints new officers

Jun 23, 2010

Also Expands Staff

The Board of Directors of Napa Valley Community Foundation (NVCF) has appointed a new slate of Officers for the fiscal year that starts on July 1. The new Officers are: Kris Jaeger, Owner of Jaeger Family Olive Oil, as Board Chair; Dr. Joe Carrillo, a pediatrician with Harvest Pediatrics in Napa, as Vice Chair; Dave Gaw, Co-founder, Attorney, Director and Shareholder at the law firm of Gaw Van Male, as Secretary; and Mark Farley, Vice President of Engineering at Zep Solar, Inc., as Treasurer. All Officers are members of the Board of Directors, and volunteer their time to govern the Community Foundation and promote its work.

Separately, NVCF also hired Julia DeNatale to serve as Manager of Philanthropic Services. Ms. DeNatale is the former Director of Development and Community Education at the Wolfe Center in Napa. In her new role at NVCF, she will help local donors learn more about nonprofit programs, as well as help them decide how to allocate charitable dollars. Julia is a native of Napa and has a B.A. in Communications (with an emphasis in Journalism) from the University of San Francisco.

"We are thrilled by the energy and intelligence that our new Officers and staff bring to the Foundation," said NVCF President Terence Mulligan. "I’m proud to work at an organization that is so committed to investing in leadership, at both the Board and staff level. When it comes to nonprofits, great people are what make the difference between stellar performance and being stuck in neutral."
