Legacy funds

With a gift of $25,000 or more, you can establish a legacy fund with Napa Valley Community Foundation. Usually part of an estate plan, these funds allow you to ensure the future success of causes or organizations close to your heart.

Personal connection to a cause

You identify your personal interest area when crafting your estate plan with your attorney. Our job is to protect your interests by awarding grants to community organizations and programs that are making a difference in the area you select, into perpetuity. Your gift stays flexible enough to meet community needs in your interest area—even as those needs change over time.

Endowing a nonprofit agency

You support one or more designated organizations that have touched your life. Endowing a nonprofit agency through your legacy fund establishes a long-term funding source for a particular organization. Your gift provides funding as well as the stability that comes with ongoing support and investment stewardship.

Because we handle the details, the nonprofit organization’s staff can focus on mission. If the organization you select ceases to exist or changes in mission, the fund will be redirected so that it continues to support your charitable wishes.

If you have a close relationship with a nonprofit organization, you may also wish to recommend that the organization begin its own agency endowment.
